The City of Port Phillip offers a variety of programs that help you to act sustainably in your home, workplace or neighbourhood. Join a program and reduce your energy use, water use and waste by 10-50% for little or no cost.  Get involved and take action with your community.

Climate Challenge 1000

 

Climate Challenge 1000 is a free program where City of Port Phillip residents commit to purchase approved GreenPower.

In return, participant households receive a free audit, and free products and installation services that save water and energy.

Challenge To Change

Challenge To Change is a free community-wide behaviour change program that challenges many groups across Port Phillip to undertake no-cost energy and water saving actions. All groups receive training in measuring and monitoring energy use and share actions that work.

SOCS & Blocks

 This trial program will provide an independant, external sustainability assessment to identify opportunities to introduce efficiency into the management of the block's energy, water, waste and transport. Blocks that commit to implementing sustainability become "Sustainable Owner's Corporations".

CitySwitch

 This program aims to provide assistance for commercial tenants to reduce energy consumption in their office spaces. This national program is run in conjunction with the City of Melbourne.

Community Leadership Training

Community Leadership Training is about increasing the confidence and skills of people to make contributions to their own community. It's about being more effective in leading projects by working smarter.

It is also FUN, interactive and applies to community, personal and professional life.

Designed for representatives from community groups or residents interested in leading community-based programs.

Sustainable Living At Home

Sustainable Living At Home (SLAH) is a program to help Port Phillip residents learn more about living more sustainably.

It will assist you to take easy steps toward making your home and lifestyle more environmentally friendly. SLAH is also a fun, interactive and interesting way of meeting people and discovering how you take action.

The SLAHminars focus on specific sustainability themes.

Solar Bulk Purchase Program

Council facilitated a bulk purchase of solar panels for the community. Although this program has ended, the page is being maintained for program participants and others as a resource regarding the solar feed-in-tariff and metering issues about solar installations.
