Waste

Our consumption and disposal habits play a major role in the creation of waste. If we treat waste as a resource, however, many things become useful and valuable. Recycled glass, stone or building materials, garden compost and grey water re-use are all examples of a waste stream used as a resource. Seeing waste as a resource also forces us to consider what we consume and how we dispose: from re-using things, minimising packaging and disposing of bulbs and computers thoughtfully, to buying things that you need and like so you will always use them.

This section provides information, practical solutions and case studies about all aspects of being waste-wise. You can also look at your total waste footprint and find actions that you can take immediately.
