Father Bob Maguire launches South Melbourne Commons

 

Father Bob Maguire launched the The South Melbourne Commons at its opening opening celebration on Saturday 10th December.

On Wednesday 23 November, mums, dads and little ones came from across the City of Port Phillip to Baby Greens to find out about environmentally sustainable nappy choices, green cleaning, cargo bikes and reusing and recycling to help other parents look after their little ones.

At the Ordinary Meeting of Council on March 28, Council carried a motion acknowledging, welcoming and celebrating the collaboration across a significant number of local community and environment groups to advocate with a united voice for meaningful action and national initiatives to challenge the impacts of climate change.

You can now read the official motion and the letter that has been sent out to the Federal and Victorian State MPs.

Find out what else we are doing to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and adapt to climate change.

The City of Port Phillip is developing a draft Greenhouse Action Plan to create a low carbon city and we need your ideas!

The GET ENERGY SMART workshop on 12 February was a great success! Damian Moyse from the Alternative Technology Association, and Cate Lawrence from Green Renters  presented to a full house and lots of tips for busting those energy bills were exchanged.
